FAQs

What does Astra do?

Astra facilitates personalized nutrition coaching by connecting patients with registered dietitians who are within their insurance networks, all at zero cost to the patient.

What is a Dietitian?

A dietitian is a healthcare professional specializing in food and nutrition, providing advice and personalized meal plans to promote healthy eating habits and address dietary and nutritional needs. Dietitians typically hold bachelor's degrees in dietetics, nutrition, or related fields, completing supervised internships and passing national exams to become registered dietitians (RDs) or dietitian nutritionists (RDNs). Nutritionists, however, may have diverse educational backgrounds, and their qualifications vary widely as the term isn't regulated like "dietitian." Some may have degrees in nutrition, food science, or public health, while others complete certificate programs or obtain credentials from professional organizations.

Do I need to download the iOS app?

While we highly recommend downloading and utilizing our iOS app for an optimal user experience, our web app also provides convenient access to booking and rescheduling appointments, chatting with your dietitian, tracking your progress, and logging meals or physical activity.

How long will it take to see results?

Each patient has unique goals and needs, resulting in varying timelines for progress. However, the majority of our patients report experiencing noticeable improvements in their nutrition knowledge and overall sense of wellbeing after just one session.

Will I have to pay anything?

Nope, as long as you provide your insurance information! Astra will submit your claim to your insurance company and guarantees that you pay zero dollars out of pocket if you elect to pay via your insurance.

What if I don't have an iPhone?

Our Android app will be available soon! In the meantime, you can use our web app to book appointments, chat with your dietitian, track your progress, and log meals or physical activity.
